Goldene Stadt
Prague is the equal of Paris in terms of beauty.
Its history goes back a millennium.
And the beer? The best in Europe.

The winding side streets of cobblestone in Mala Strana are lined with romantic Baroque and Renaissance architecture. Charming pastel buildings, ornate palaces and gardens showcase the wealthy history of this district, while the old-world pubs, traditional restaurants, and upscale hotels make it a prime location for tourists.

Even if you hate touristy areas: No trip to Prague would be complete without bumping shoulders with the crowds on the Charles Bridge and PRAGUE OLD TOWN SQUARE, surrounded by medieval, epic buildings. Punctuated by the Gothic style Church of Our Lady before Týn, the Old Town Square has been the main part of the city since the 14th century. In the summer months the place will be rammed with tourists, so our recommendation is to snap your photos and quickly retire to the narrow alleyways that spider out from the square.

A UNESCO World Heritage site, it consists of a large-scale composition of palaces and ecclesiastical buildings of various architectural styles, from the remains of Romanesque-style buildings from the 10th century through Gothic modifications of the 14th century.

Charles Bridge is a stone Gothic bridge that connects the Old Town and Lesser Town (Malá Strana). It was actually called the Stone Bridge (Kamenný most) during its first several centuries. Its construction was commissioned by Czech king and Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV and began in 1357. In charge of the construction was architect Petr Parléř whose other works include the St. Vitus Cathedral at the Prague Castle. It is said that egg yolks were mixed into the mortar to strengthen the construction of the bridge.

Prague’s Jewish Quarter (“Židovské město” in Czech) is one of the most impressive places in the capital of the Czech Republic. Josefov, as the quarter is officially named, is at the same time beautiful and wrathful, due to its complicated history. It used to be the largest Jewish ghetto in Europe, and its Old Jewish Cemetery is the most remarkable of its kind on the continent.

Downtown of Prague with oldtown and lesser town is very beautiful and full of vivid history, but it is crowded almost throughout the whole year and at any time of the day – and night.
So we highly recommend to take your time and visit the outer areas and particularly Letná Park.
